Color and speed correction

Old Regular 8mm films remain of an impeccable quality, despite the fact these films are as
old as 60 years! Nevertheless, these films may have undergone particular color changes.
We are able the restore these color distortions during the process of transfer.
Also, a reoccuring issue is the speed which was used to shoot the film appears to be incorrect.
The standard speed of these films was 16 images per second.
However, in practice the speed appeared to be a mere 11 or 12 images per second.
The speed can even differ from scene to scene.
By correction of the speed we delete the 'slapstick effect'. Furthermore, this correction enables you to watch a more stable image, which is more natural to the eye.

These clips show the condition of Super8 films after these films were soaked in water for more than one year in a water-filled basement. As a result, these films were covered with fungus. Luckily, the films were not totally disintegrated. SuperSens was able to save these seemingly lost films with the use of the unique film developing machine that was designed and hand-built by SuperSens! The films, 1500 feet in total, were gently washed and the persistent fungus was removed with rotating brushes within the machine. Unfortunately, the content of the films was damaged as the pigments in the films had been eaten away by bacteria. However, on suggestion of SuperSens the customer (mr Hamersma from Amsterdam) chose to have the films transfered to miniDV. Subsequently, he was able to remove the detoriated parts on the computer. The result: invaluable memories which were deemed to be lost forever could be restored and preserved for future generations! SuperSens' profound knowlegde and rich experience together with its capacity to meet the customer needs enable our professionals to provide for fully customized solutions to any of your film requests!

Polavision - Super8 ready at the moment film

Recently SuperSens received a collection of Polaroid Super8 cassettes. After filming we put the cassette in the daylight projector. 90 seconds afterwards it could already be viewed!
It concerns an extremely rare system that was introduced in 1977.
SuperSens needed to use brutal force to open the cassette in order to digitilize the films.
